LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 2005 Ferrari 575 Superamerica
The Superamerica name has always been reserved for Ferrari’s most exclusive and most powerful luxury Grand Tourers, a qualification met in whole by the 2005 version. Unveiled at the Los Angeles and Detroit Auto Shows in 2003, the Superamerica was a derivation of the 575 Maranello coupe that used Ferrari’s powerful and silky-smooth 5.5L V-12 engine. Rated at 515 HP in the 575 Maranello, its output was raised to 532 HP at 7,250 RPM in the Superamerica by increasing intake flow rates and reducing exhaust back pressure. Coupled with either a 6-speed manual transmission or the paddle-shifted, computer controlled F1 automatic, the V-12 powered the Superamerica to 60 MPH in 4.2 seconds and 199 MPH top speed. Independent front and rear suspension with coil springs, telescopic shock absorbers with adaptive damping and anti-roll bars, combined to keep the world’s fastest convertible planted at speed.
What made the Superamerica unique was this unique Revochromico rotating hardtop which is constructed using a carbon-fiber frame integrated with electrochromic glass, it was the first roof of its kind to be fitted to a production car. When closed, the opacity of the roof could be adjusted via a dial in the cabin, turning the glass from fully transparent like a conventional sunroof to only allowing in 1% of available light. With just the press of a button, the roof easily rotates back to rest flush with the boot lid, leaving the rear window to function as a wind deflector. Another major plus of this design was that as the roof rests on the rear deck it does not obstruct luggage capacity, and the boot is more than spacious enough for a weekend getaway for two.
Ferrari only built 559 Superamericas, and all were spoken for by the time it was announced, as they had more or less been designated for Ferrari’s favorite customers. Like the 275 GTB/4 N.A.R.T. Spider, 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spider, or the 550 Barchetta before it, the 575 Superamerica was a very special car and destined to become a future collectible from the moment it was announced.
Produced on June 6, 2005 for export to North America, this stunningly beautiful 2005 Ferrari 575 Superamerica is one of a limited edition. It is 1 of only 559 ever built in part to commemorate Ferrari’s six consecutive Formula 1 World Championships. Sold new at Ferrari of Central Florida, this 2005 Superamerica has travelled just 8,085 miles from new, a fact reflected in its pristine overall presentation. Loaded with power options and finished in striking Grigio Titano with a superb carbon fiber-accented Cuoio leather interior, it is the ultimate expression of the exciting and highly successful Maranello lineage.
Included with the sale of this special edition Ferrari are the original manuals, warranty card, factory tool kit, battery charger, car cover and service records.
