LMC is proud to offer this 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta for sale.

In 2000 Ferrari introduced the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina, a very limited production version of the 550. The Barchetta features a shorter, more aggressively raked windshield, two-piece alloy wheels, an aluminum fuel-filler door, and a restyled trunk that was actually larger than that of the coupe. Additionally, all 550 Barchettas were equipped with racing seats, which were optional in the coupe. Unlike the Daytona Spider, the Barchetta was a true roadster, as it was equipped with a soft top substantial enough only for low speed use—Ferrari’s way of enticing their customers to have fun in the sun. The 550 front-engine V12 with 4 valves per cylinder, Bosch Motronic fuel injection, dual overhead cams and the 6-speed manual gearbox located at the rear-wheel drive axle resulting in an impressive 485 bhp. The chassis is tubular steel space frame to which the aluminum body panels are soldered and has independent front and rear suspension. Rack and pinion steering with variable power assist and four-wheel ventilated Brembo disc brakes with ABS to stop the magnesium alloy 18-inch wheels. Together this package provides a great handling performance car on a wheelbase of just 98.5 in. As for excitement, the manufacturer claimed a top speed of 199 mph while Motor Trend magazine recorded a 0 to 60 miles per hour acceleration time of 4.2 seconds and a ¼ mile performance of 12.5 seconds at 116.9 mph. Certainly enough to leave other drivers with just an opportunity to admire the famous chrome prancing Ferrari horse between the four protruding round tail lights.

This 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta is one of only 448 ever produced featured in the traditional Rosso Corsa Red over Black leather, a fitting and very popular color combination for this limited-production convertible. From every angle the Ferrari 550 Barchetta styling lines are exciting and appear to be in motion. The 550 Barchetta rides on cast magnesium alloy five-spoke wheels reflecting Pininfarina styling and Ferrari’s technical specifications. The car’s interior reflects its pure sporting character, with black stitched leather and carbon-fiber high-back racing seats and the wrap-around line of the dash attractively continuing across and around the production ‘number plate’ on the center console. Behind the seats are the roll bars, attractively trimmed in leather, that provide additional structural rigidity as well as protection for the occupants in case of an accident. And of course, the European touch of class in the trunk, a beautiful five-piece Black/Brown Leather trimmed Luggage Set with the Ferrari logos for the longer adventurous trips. Also accompanying this special example are its original owner’s manuals, tools, two keys (still in the wrapper) and more! This 2,307 mile car has been collector owned, kept in a climate controlled environment and is in as new condition. Important with any Ferrari is the service history to which this car has its complete service records including a major service performed  recently by Ferrari. Also it has recently undergone the Ferrari Classiche certification program and is awaiting its red book. Also, comes colette with the desirable Ferrari Luggage.

The Barchetta has become a highly desired model for any Ferrari collection that includes recent vintages. This 2001 Ferrari 550 Barchetta offers exclusivity, all the conveniences and luxuries expected in a modern high class automobile, very low mileage and of course your opportunity to hear the wonderful unique Ferrari engine song while enjoying the carefree convertible feel of the open road…motoring simply does not get much better than this.
