LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge
The GTO often considered the Granddaddy of the Muscle Car went through a few designs throughout the 60’s and early 70’s, once the Judge model arrived they had a great muscle car with perfect advertising the back it up. The story of the GTO Judge is well-noted. Based on a regular comedic line from the popular TV show “Laugh In,” (“Here comes da Judge!”), Pontiac created an image vehicle that was aimed at a younger audience. Once 1969 came along, in selecting the Judge package you were rewarded with a great appearance package and standard Ram Air III power, a great overall package!
This rare GTO was sold new at dealer Vincel Pontiac in St. Louis, Missouri for a suggested retail price of $4271.76. This hardtop, painted in highly desirable Carousel Red with a Parchment bucket-seat interior, is a quintessential rendering of a GTO. At $337.05 back in 1969, the Judge package was quite a bargain, as it included great standard equipment. A Ram Air 400 CI engine power with 4-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust, blacked-out grille, functional hood scoops, rear airfoil, exclusive Judge graphics and Rally II wheels were included in every Judge. It was also ordered with the sought after 4-speed transmission backed by the Safe-T-Trac Posi rear end. Other options included: AM Radio, Deluxe Belts, Console, Power Steering, Remote Mirror, Hood Tach, Rally Gauges and Power Disc Brakes. A set of Rally II wheels and BFG T/A radial tires help complete the appearance, with the Judge name prominently decaled where it would get respect.
Less than 10 percent of the 72,000 GTO’s built in 1969 were honored to become Judges, and this car’s options, including the paint, are all listed on its PHS documentation. Today, the letters GTO and Judge command much respect and are admired by any true muscle car enthusiast.
