LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1957 Ford Thunderbird

Ford was ultimately compelled into the two-seater sports-car craze by the Corvette. The Thunderbird was the perfect car to compete in the newly created two-seater marketplace. Sold to the American buyer as an upscale personal sports car, this sporty new convertible was designed to be comfortable and convenient with an emphasis on luxury. The Thunderbird became a wildly instant success and outsold the Corvette by a shocking 23-to-1 ratio in its amazing first production year. This ‘57 Thunderbird is a culmination of everything learned over three years of producing Ford two-seaters, and it presents in absolutely stunning fashion.

The example offered here for sale was an early production example sold at Culver Motors in Culver City, California on November 10th, 1956. This frame off restored Thunderbird is presented in its original “X” code Dusk Rose exterior paint complemented by a White interior and White soft top. It is powered by a 312 cu in V8 engine with optional Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. This beautiful car also features many factory options sought after on early Thunderbirds including thunderbird engine dress up kit, rear fender skirts, signal seeker radio, backup lights, tinted glass, heater and defroster, power steering, power brakes and padded dash. It has been beautifully restored with show quality paint that has been wet sanded and polished to glass like reflection. The engine bay has been detailed to OEM style specifications and presents beautifully. To finish off the gorgeous restoration is a set of full wheel covers with wide white wall tires.

This Thunderbird is finished in a timeless and extremely collectible color combination, sure to grab some attention on the road. It has been beautifully restored and would do as well at the local show as on the road. It also comes documented with an original window sticker which outlines the original options and selling dealer. A very nice example of 50’s era styling and in a two-seater roadster ready for Sunday evening cruises.
