1969 Plymouth HEMI Road Runner

Ultra Rare Original Hemi Convertible

1969 was the second year of production for the hugely successful Roadrunner, Plymouth chose to add a convertible option in addition to the coupe and hardtop coupe already available. Plymouth would produce a total of 84,420 Roadrunners for 1969, with only 2,128 being convertibles. Of those, a mere 6 were produced with the legendary 426 street HEMI and Torqueflite automatic.

This beautiful Roadrunner is one of the few remaining original HEMI convertibles; finished in its factory colors of Sunfire Yellow exterior with Tan vinyl interior and a white power top.   Also originally ordered with many desirable options such as, power steering, power front disc brakes, very unique power window option, tinted glass, light package (including map/courtesy light, ashtray light, glove box light, trunk light and ignition switch lamp), fender mounted turn signals, factory tach, “Air Grabber” hood, AM radio with front speaker and a Sure-Grip rear axle with 3.23 ratio. This very special Hemi has seen only test miles since a full nut and bolt rotisserie restoration.   Formerly the property of noted "B" body expert John Dallain and comes complete with letter of authenticity from the original selling dealer, original fender tag and a complete decoding done by Galen Govier.   With only 10 Hemi Roadrunner convertibles ever produced for the USA, this offering marks a truly unique opportunity to purchase an exceptionally rare and extremely collectible piece of Mopar history.
