1969 Dodge Daytona
The Ultimate of the Nascar “Aero Cars”?
“Win on Sunday, sell on Monday” was the philosophy of the big three manufacturers in the 1969, as the glory days of muscle cars and true stock car racing approached its pinnacle years. No car demonstrates a companies “at all costs” desire to win races than the over the top 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. From its 23” tall rear spoiler, to the front aero clip, the Daytona was clearly designed to hit 200 mph on the high banks of NASCAR, but rules stated it must also be produced as a street car to homologate the car for competition, so 503 were produced and delivered to Dodge dealers. This production total was approximately 1/4 of the total Plymouth Superbird production, making it far more rare and desirable!!!!!
