Previously
referred to as the Chevy II, the Nova was always Chevrolets small, light
weight, entry level muscle car. With the introduction of the Camaro, the Nova
also benefited from a restyling and big block horsepower.
This 1969
model Nova SS has several features making it a very unique and very special
example. Painted its original color of Fathom Green with black bucket interior,
it is first made unique by the incredibly desirable L78 396/375hp engine with
equally sought after, bullet proof M22 “Rock Crusher” close ratio 4 speed transmission.
This great power train is finished off with a posi rear end, all kept in line
with power front disc brakes. Other optional features seen on the car include
F41 suspension, center console with console gauge pack, upgraded instrument
cluster including tach to keep an eye on the big 396. Also making this car
extra special is how all this has been documented, this Nova comes complete
with the bullet proof full documentation from GM of Canada’s Vintage Vehicle
Services. With this information in hand, we know exactly how the car appeared
when delivered new from Golden Mile Motors. Over the years, the car has been nicely
restored and then driven and enjoyed on sunny days. The car shows in great
overall condition and represents a unique opportunity to purchase a real L78
Nova SS with complete documentation.
