Restored 348 Tri-Power - "Bubble Top"

1961 came with another redesign for one of Chevrolets flagship cars, the Impala. This latest redesign would become known as the bubble top, for obvious reasons. It retained some of the design cues from earlier models such as the full length accents with matching paint, and the Impala specific 6 tail light layout. The biggest changes came with the large round roof with matching curved glass, which made for a driving experience like no other. Performance was also becoming more of a focal point with the introduction of both the 348 and 409 big block motors.

This stunning 1961 Impala is painted Twilight Turquoise with Ermine White roof (paint code 963), complimented nicely by the matching turquoise interior (trim code 852). It comes very nicely equipped with power steering, power brakes, deluxe heater, push button radio and white wall tires. It’s powered by the optional 348 Tri-Power “Turbo Thrust” engine, mated to an optional automatic transmission. It has been beautifully restored and well maintained, starts and runs very nicely and still turns heads just as it did when it rolled off the showroom floor.
