1972 Hurst/Olds
Documented California Car
For the 1972 model year, George Hurst and Oldsmobile teamed up to
produce the 3rd edition of the special Oldsmobile Cutlass named for the
two companies, the Hurst/Olds. As with the two previous models, the
cars all came equipped with Oldsmobiles Rocket 455 engine and automatic
transmissions, and all were painted Cameo White with Firefrost Gold
trim. To make these extras even more unique, the 1972 Hurst/Olds was
chosen to pace the 1972 Indianapolis 500, making it the 2nd time since
1970 that an Oldsmobile would pace the great race.
This very original 3 owner 1972 Hurst/Olds was bought new in
California, and still retains its original numbers matching Rocket 455
engine and numbers matching TH-400 automatic, of course operated by a
Hurst Dual Gate shifter. It also comes equipped with Rally Suspension,
dual exhaust, power front disc brakes, power steering, factory Air
Conditioning, bucket seat interior with console and Super Stock III
wheels. This beautiful Pace Car comes with an original build sheet,
original owners manual, maintenance/warranty information booklet,
operating instruction pamphlet, consumer information booklet, original
spare tire and even the original California license plates with dealer
frames. The 1972 Hurst/Olds was the lowest producion of all, with only
499 hardtops produced. Having been extremely well cared for by all
previous owners, this Pace Car Hurst/Olds is a rare opportunity to pick
up a very unique and distinctive collector car.
