1969 Plymouth Road Runner
Beep Beep!
When the Muscle Car first came to be, it was a simple design, basic
body with a motor designed for larger sized cars shoe horned into
place, providing cheap performance for the young buyers. By 1968 the
muscle cars had become more heavily optioned, pricier and more directed
towards clients with more disposable income. When Plymouth chose to
build the Road Runner, they wanted a back to basics muscle car, priced
well, big block power, light weight, with an emphasis on performance
above everything else.
This 1969 Plymouth Road Runner is an excellent example,
powered by a numbers matching 383/335 hp motor and a numbers matching
4-speed transmission, just as it was when delivered to its original
owners Ernest and Mary Burdine, March 19, 1969 from Cross Country
Chrysler Plymouth in Cincinnati Ohio. Other options selected on this
car included the light group, high performance axle package with 3.91
ratio, 3 speed wipers, desirable N96 air grabber hood, AM radio with
stereo tape, rear seat speakers, vinyl roof, accent stripes, Chrome
styled wheels and red streak tires. It also comes fully documented with
original window sticker, original loan information from initial
purchase, original bill of sale, information regarding ownership
history and restoration, original owners manual and many other
documents. An excellent car for someone looking for a pure muscle car
that is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
