1969 Hurst/Olds
Two Legendary Names - One Iconic Car
In 1969 Hurst Performance and Oldsmobile combined forces for the second year in a row to produce one of the wildest muscle cars ever. Having found a clever way around General Motors engine size rule of no motor greater than 400 cu in for a midsize car, they opened to the door to some incredible performance. Similar to the previous model year, the 1969 Hurst/Olds is powered by a 455 cubic inch big block generating 380 hp and a mind twisting 500 lb/ft of torque with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission, of course controlled by a Hurst Dual Gate Shifter. But unlike its subtle predecessor, now it sported instantly recognizable Firefrost gold graphics on Cameo White paint. But not to be missed were the giant hood scoops which many compare to two mail boxes strapped to the hood to feed the motor with cool air.
Sold new at Hansel & Ortman in Stockton California on June 19, 1969 to its original owner Stanley Turndeaugh, this 1969 Hurst/Olds has been faithfully restored from the ground up and appears as it would have been delivered on that day. With its numbers matching engine and transmission, proper Cameo White paint with Firefrost trim, black interior with the same Firefrost accents, Hurst Dual Gate Automatic shifter; this a perfect example of what was possible when two great companies got together. Since the cars restoration it has been featured on Speed TV's "Dream Car Garage" Big Block Shootout one hour special, where it performed flawlessly. It was also used in the "Dream Car Garage" 2008 Calendar. The car comes complete with full documentation including original invoices, broadcast sheet, past titles, photos of the restoration and much more. This is a perfect opportunity to own one of the most recognizable, yet rarely seen muscle cars of all time.
