1971 Chevrolet Corvette
NCRS Top Flight - Factory LS6 454
There are few cars in the collector car world that command the kind of respect and admiration as the LS6 Corvette because of its distinctive looks and stellar performance. But unfortunately the 1971 model year saw the beginning of the end for the high horsepower cars of the 70’s because of increasing emissions limitations, and pressure from the insurance industry to reduce power outputs. In response to these increased needs Chevrolet had no choice but to discontinue the LS6 engine at the end of this model year.
This rare example is one of only 188 made in 1971 and it comes with extensive documentation such as the original build sheet, NCRS Top Flight judging forms, Protecto-Plate and original owner’s manuals. This Corvette is equipped with the very rare numbers matching LS6 454 engine, rated at 425 HP with the M22 Rock Crusher Muncie 4 speed transmission and optional twin disc clutch. It has recently undergone a very thorough frame off restoration in its factory correct #983 Brands Hatch Green with complimentary Saddle leather interior. Other attractive options found on this car include tilt steering wheel, power windows, power steering and brakes to complete the package. This stunning car also has the T roof for open air driving on those nice days. Its striking appearance is complimented by the correct Rally wheels with trim rings and Firestone Wide Oval tires. As if this car wasn’t fantastic enough already, an exact replica display engine is also available for this car. This beautiful Corvette is a combination of rarities: numbers matching factory LS6 454, original documentation and NCRS Top Flight Status all combined with the very well executed frame off restoration. That all adds up to a very collectible example of the C3 Corvette.
