No other
word, engine designation or advertisement campaign emerged so famous from the
muscle car era than HEMI. Forever attached to the MOPAR muscle car, the HEMI,
released in 426 cubic inch street form in 1966 would go down in history as a
legendary motor, capable of incredible performance for the track or street.
Motor Trend Magazine described its acceleration performance as
“absolutely shattering”.
Finished in
the colour that always looks great, black with black interior, this 1966
Plymouth Satellite is a great example of the top of the line Plymouth B-body coupe with a 426 Street HEMI
engine and a 4 speed transmission. When selecting the HEMI option on a MOPAR,
other upgrades were mandatory to handle the power from the massive motor such
as a bulletproof DANA 60 rear axle and a larger radiator to keep things cool. This
particular car also comes nicely setup with front bucket seats and console,
console mounted tach, Magnum wheels with Redline radial tires and loads of
chrome and aluminum trim making this car look like a big cruiser. But there is
no hiding the 426 HEMI badges on the front fenders or the exciting noises exiting
through the dual exhaust. This Satellite has been very nicely restored; the
black paint shows exquisitely and is only further accented by the restored or
new chrome and bright work seen throughout. A true “H” code 1966 street HEMI
Satellite with a 4 speed, one of the proper original MOPAR HEMI muscle cars,
perfect for the enthusiast or collector to be shown, driven and enjoyed!!
