The muscle
car era was very much influenced by the factories involvement in various racing
programs, and in many cases, cars were developed and sold to the consumer as a
direct result of the rule book for many racing programs. Among the most famous
would have to be the Trans Am racing series, there are several very impressive
and legendary models that may never have existed otherwise including the Camaro
Z/28, Challenger T/A and of course the Mustang BOSS 302.
This fully
restored 1970 BOSS 302 Mustang is finished in its beautiful factory colors of
Calypso Coral with black reflective side decals and black striping with white
rhino/Corinthian vinyl bucket interior and features a numbers matching BOSS 302
engine with optional close ratio 4-speed transmission. Originally shipped to
McCollum Ford Sales Inc. in Dishman Washington in December of 1969, this factory
BOSS 302 came equipped with some desirable factory options such as rear deck
spoiler, previously mentioned close ratio 4-speed transmission, rear window
sport slats, console, Magnum 500 wheels with white letter tires and the factory
tachometer. The car has since benefited from a complete ground up restoration
to factory specifications including chalk and paint markings, which is all
documented with a full photo album. From the time the restoration was
completed, the car has been very well maintained as part of a collection,
stored in a climate controlled environment. It of course comes fully documented
with a deluxe report from Ford specialists at Marti Auto Works and would make a
valuable addition to any collection, whether it is for the Mustang or muscle
car enthusiasts alike.
