1969 Pontiac Trans Am Completely Restored and Well Documented
Following the introduction of the Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac entered the Pony Car market in 1967
with its own F-Body car, the Pontiac Firebird. Although a stout performer, the
Firebird spent its first years of production sharing Chevrolet power trains
with the Camaro, not until 1969 did a performance oriented version come to
market which was most definitely all Pontiac, the Pontiac Trans Am was born.
For the
1969 model year, all Trans Am’s were painted cameo ivory with dual blue stripes
from front to back, this beautiful, ground up restored example also comes with
matching blue interior. Originally shipped to Strickland Pontiac Buick Inc. in
Canandaigua New York this particular Trans Am is powered
by a numbers matching L74 Ram Air III version of Pontiacs 400 cu in engine rated at 335hp and
a numbers matching Muncie 4-speed. It is also equipped with
some great options that not only add to the cars desirability but also make the
car that much more pleasant to drive such as power front disc brakes and power
steering along with the interior décor group, push button radio and rally II
wheels with Goodyear Polyglas tires. This T/A has also benefited from a
complete nut and bolt restoration, comes with photos detailing the re-assembly
stages and is of course documented with a complete set of documents from
Pontiac Historical Services and original warranty information card. The low
production numbers of ’69 T/A’s, coupled with their uniqueness and pure Pontiac features make these cars not only
rare, but always sought after. This fully restored and documented T/A is a
great opportunity for the collector, or Pontiac enthusiast to obtain that Trans Am
they always wanted to drive and enjoy.
