One of the
best parts of the automotive hobby is the range of participation. From the
purist, numbers matching/date coded/original documentation, to the individuals
who simply enjoy classic cars and their design, to those who enjoy taking those
classic body lines and making them extra special with custom parts, paint,
drivetrain components, and in some cases, a combination of all the above!!!
This
particular 1970 Corvette Coupe is a great example of taking what some may have
disregarded as just another small block C3 and making a real head turner.
Having been treated to a beautiful black base coat/clear coat paint job that
appears to be a mile deep, the paint is further accented by the chrome and
aluminum trim of the early 3rd generation Corvette and 18” 5 spoke
wheels, polished to a quality shine making this coupe really grab your
attention. It was then outfitted with a small block 350 crate motor and
attached to a 4 speed manual and further adding to the fun of the car, polished
side mount exhaust off a set of custom headers. It is also equipped with other features
making the drivers seat that much better a place to be such as power steering,
power disc brakes, “T-top” roof, removable rear window and an upgraded Pioneer
stereo head unit. The end result of all this work speaks for itself, a
beautiful Corvette coupe with a clean straight body, magnified by the fantastic
paint job and the blinding shine coming off the polished trim, wheels and
exhaust. A fun, reliable car to show, enjoy and be driven on sunny afternoons
with the T roof open.
