Among the most sought after collector cars to come out of
the muscle car era has to be the Big Block 427 Corvette. Considered to be ahead
of their time in both performance, drivability and comfort, by 1967 they came
complete with independent rear suspension and four wheel disc brakes, when most
of the competition relied on drums and solid axles. Among the Corvettes, the
epitome of performance was the 435hp 427 engine, equipped with a Muncie
4 speed, add that to a beautiful mid year body lines, and you had one of the
most desirable Corvettes ever.
One of the highest honors a Corvette can achieve is a Top
Flight award from the NCRS, but in the case of this particular L71 Corvette
coupe and its previous owner, that wasn’t quite enough. After being awarded Top
Flight honors in 2002, this beautiful factory Elkhart Blue Coupe was sold to a
new owner, who decided that such a attractive, desirable and original car,
nicely optioned with the numbers matching L71 427/435hp engine, numbers
matching Muncie 4 speed, posi rear end with 3.70 gears, side mount exhaust,
power windows, headrest seats and AM/FM radio deserved more!! The car was
promptly sent out to the Corvette experts at Nabers Motors in Texas
to be completely restored. The body, chassis, drivetrain and interior were
beautifully restored, taking full advantage of the original parts and
components already found on this stunning example. The car has seen only test
miles since completion and remains in excellent overall condition.
What you see today is a beautiful, NCRS award
winning, Nabers restored Elkhart Blue with black stinger hood L71 1967 coupe,
ready to be shown and judged, or just enjoyed for its stunning good looks and
performance.
