2008 Shelby GT-500

Supercharged 5.4L – 500hp

Released in 2007, the Shelby GT500 was to be the newest high performance Mustang to come out of Ford’s in house hot rod shop called Special Vehicle Team. A continuation of the very popular SVT Cobra, it also coincidentally marked the 40 model year anniversary since the first Shelby GT500 hit the market. Obviously if Shelby was going to allow his name to be used in conjunction with this car, it had to be a world class performing vehicle, and it did not disappoint.

Painted the characteristic Shelby colours of white with blue stripes, complimented by the Shelby interior package in black with black accents and Cobra embroidered seats, this striking example of the modern GT500 has travelled a meagre 4,917miles (7,913 km) since new. Powered by a supercharged version of Ford’s 5.4L DOHC engine, it is factory rated at 500 hp and 475 tire roasting lb/ft of torque, all this power goes to the ground through a T-56, 6-speed manual transmission and 3.31 ratio rear gear. This completely un-molested GT500 retains all its factory components and features many of the few available options for the Shelby model such as Fords Ambient lighting and the Shaker 1000 Audio system. Being in such clean condition, factory livery reminiscent of the original GT-500’s of the 1960’s, it is a perfect original car for a Shelby enthusiast to start with, or to be retained as part of a collection.
