Following in the footsteps of the ever
popular mid year Corvettes was going to be difficult. Fortunately for Corvette
enthusiasts, Chevrolet was up for the challenge and with the introduction of
the C3 body style in 1968, they began another exciting chapter in the history
of the Corvette. By 1972, government regulations, insurance companies and the
oil industry were making things difficult for the big block muscle car, but
Corvette was not ready to abandon the idea just yet and continued to offer a
slightly detuned version of the legendary LS5 454 Big Block.
This eye grabbing 1972 Corvette Coupe still
retains its factory applied Ontario Orange paint with its factory original
saddle vinyl interior. Having been cared for and maintained well for its entire
life, it still retains the numbers matching LS5 454 and automatic transmission.
The three previous owners of this car have clearly recognized how special and
original this car is, taking it to countless NCRS events, having the car judged
and being rewarded with multiple Top Flite awards, from a regional chapter all
the way to a NCRS national level. All that could make this original car even
more special is of course documentation, which this car has lots of.
Reproduction window sticker, NCRS judging sheets, original sales contract and
bullet proof GM of Canada documentation show exactly how nice this car truly is;
and for good measure, the car also retains its factory tank sticker, still in
place on the original gas tank. This Corvette represents an increasingly rare
opportunity to obtain a national award winning, original condition car that
comes fully documented and ready for the next stage in its already impressive
history.
