1970 Buick GSX Stage 1

The Icon of Buick Performance

Mid-year 1970 Buick released the GSX package. Priced at an additional $1,195.87 this was a comprehensive and expensive option. The package included a distinctive GSX hood and body stripes, front and rear spoiler, GSX decal on rear spoiler and rear quarter, GSX grille and instrument panel emblem, rocker panel moulding with GSX stripes, color coordinated headlamp bezels, outside right and left color coordinated racing mirrors, hood tachometer, power disc brakes, Super Wide Oval tires with Chrome wheels, performance axle with 3.42 ratio, Rallye ride control package (rear stabilizer bar, front and rear firm ride tuned shocks, rear firm ride springs and rear lower control arm assembly), instrument gauges and Rallye clock, and Rallye steering wheel.

This particular car was ordered with the Stage 1 performance option, which added several high performance modifications, resulting in a far under-rated at 360hp and a whopping 510ft-tq engine. Other ordered options included Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 transmission with full length console, air-conditioning, quick ratio power steering, power disc brakes, Sonomatic radio, soft-ray tinted glass, Saturn Yellow paint, and more. Documenting this car is the GS Historical Society documentation, a buildsheet and a production order. With the numbers matching engine and only test miles since the complete nut and bolt frame off restoration, the car is in absolutely stunning condition. Any fan of the muscle car area can appreciate this well documented, very collectable, and beautiful restored Stage 1 performance Buick.
