Unlike today, when ordering a car is as simple a simple process of choosing which predetermined package will suit your needs best, in the days of the original muscle cars, one could tailor make a car exactly as they wanted. What many Chevrolet customers of the time did not realize was that there were many other, unadvertised options available, all you needed was the right person, to know the right codes to put on that spec sheet. One of such options was RPO code L89, taking the already impressive 396/375hp solid lifter motor, and giving it aluminum heads.

Sold new at Capitol Chevrolet in Nashville , TN on November 1^st, 1968 , this beautiful 1969 Camaro SS is an excellent example of a car with hand picked options. Factory Olympic Gold with Black vinyl roof, Black striping with matching Black deluxe bucket interior and console, it shows an image of class, sophistication and no clues to the incredible big block hidden under the hood. Equipped with its numbers matching 396/375 hp engine with factory L89 aluminum heads, only 311 Camaros were produced with this motor, making it among the more rare and desirable ever. Paired with its numbers matching Muncie 4 speed transmission and BT coded rear end, this car has been very nicely maintained and cared for throughout the years. Recently having gone through a complete restoration back to its original glory, this car of course comes fully documented with a Protect-o-Plate and all numbers, equipment, date codes verified with a certificate of authenticity from noted Camaro specialist Jerry MacNeish.
