The car that started all the muscle car wars was the Pontiac
GTO. Having gone through a few styling changes since its introduction in 1964,
an all new styled body was release for the 1968 model year, it would prove to
be another hit, further cementing the GTO in muscle car history.
This head turning 1968 Pontiac GTO has been restored in
Bright Red paint, applied as base coat clearcoat and polished to a nice finish.
The interior of the car has also been well put together with bucket seats in
parchment white, with matching door panels, console with complimenting black
carpet and dash. The motor in this GTO is the correct XM coded 400 cu in motor
with 4 bbl carburetor and a Hurst “Dual-Gate” shifted TH400 automatic
transmission putting the power to the posi rear end. It also comes equipped
with some desirable features adding to its beautiful driving characteristics,
power steering, power front disc brakes and last but certainly not least a
correct style air conditioning system. Add to this the hide away head lights,
dual exhaust and
Pontiac 5-spoke Rally
wheels and you have a look that is pure GTO. Nicely documented by Pontiac
Historical Services, this original GTO would be a great car for someone in
search of a classic head turning muscle car to enjoy on Sundays and hit the
local cruise nights with.
