1967 Shelby GT500

Beautiful Original and Fully Documented Shelby

As the muscle era ramped up, the introduction of the Mustangs first real competitor, the Chevrolet Camaro, time called for a big block Mustang, as with before, Carroll Shelby was ready to boost Mustangs performance reputation. The introduction of the 1967 Shelby GT500 was the first time a 428 engine would be available in a Mustang, which turned out to work so well, Ford itself would soon follow suit. This beautiful 1967 Shelby GT500 is a terrific example of the model.

Being the last of the extremely desirable California built Shelbys, it rolled off the assembly line April 11, 1967 and was destined for Magic City Motor Corp in Roanoke, Virginia. It arrived at the dealer appearing as many believe a Shelby should, factory Wimbledon White with black interior, the same livery the car features today; and powered by the 428 cu in Police Interceptor motor with twin 4bbl carburetors and a 4 speed top loader transmission. Making this car even more special are the other documented factory options such as the famous and very collectible "inboard" headlights, ten spoke rims with proper "small letter" Goodyear speedway tires, fold down rear seat, power steering, power front disc brakes and interior décor group.   This Shelby GT500 has all the correct and corresponding Ford and Shelby VIN’s in place, it is of course listed in the Shelby Registry and also comes complete with bullet proof documentation from Marti Auto Works; and if that weren’t enough, also accompanying the car is the dealer invoice from Shelby America to Magic City Motor.   There is no question that this Shelby has been extremely well cared for as it retains its factory body panels and shows no evidence of rust repair.   Under close inspection you will notice the factory primer runs and drips hanging from the floor pans and in certain areas the factory brush on sealer is visible.   Very nicly restored, fully documented and well equipped are all elements making this an extremely desirable collector car, add to this the history of being an original Shelby GT500, and you have one of the most desirable and sought after muscle cars of all time!!!
