1965 Shelby GT-350 SR

#SR4040

In 2005, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Shelby Mustang, a special car needed to be built. With the full support of Carroll Shelby himself, the GT-350 SR was created with only 40 copies to be made – one for every year since the original GT-350 took to the roads and race tracks. What came out was a combination of modern technology, vintage Shelby style and incredible performance.

This GT-350 “SR” instantly turns heads from the “R” model style front facia, plexi glass rear quarter windows to the Silva Silver with Shelby Blue stripes. The interior is composed of custom Shelby bucket seats covered in blue leather, a full set of Shelby signature gauges, short throw shifter, 5 point safety harnesses mounted to a roll bar, Sony stereo and a custom wood wheel. One twist of the ignition key welcomes the bark from side exit exhaust connected to the fuel injected 427 cu in. all aluminum Shelby small block rated at 585hp, directed to the Currie 9” rear end through a Tremec TKO series 5 speed transmission. To keep all the power in check the GT-350 SR has fully independent front suspension with fully adjustable rear suspension and Baer disc brakes all around covered by Foose designed 17” wheels. This Shelby really provides the best of all worlds, the classic & timeless lines of  an early fastback Mustang with the performance/drivability of modern equipment and of course the  racing pedigree  that comes from being a Shelby!
