1968 Shelby GT500 Fastback
1 of 90 Produced with 4-Speed and A/C

In 1968, anyone who was well off enough to own one of these cars would have been at the very top of the food chain in the peak of the Muscle Car era. They were priced on the very highest end of the market, and appealed to professionals that wanted to stand out from the crowd. They had performance, comfort and style all in one package.

This beautiful Shelby GT 500 has been collector owned and is one of only 90 GT500’s built in 1968 with the 4 speed transmission and factory Air conditioning. It was the 1871st built in the Metuchen Plant in Edison NJ and was assembled on February 15th 1968 and delivered to Schanzmeyer Ford  in Jefferson Missouri . This stunning example has been fully restored and is finished in its original livery of # 3073-A Sunlight Gold paint with Black Interior. The stunning looks of this car are further set off by the optional 10 spoke cast aluminium wheels and Lucas driving lights. The beautifully detailed Police Interceptor 428 – 4V engine is conservatively rated at 335HP is mated to the Top Loader four speed transmission and 3.00 ratio rear differential.  In addition to the previously mentioned factory A/C, this Shelby also has the optional tilt away steering wheel, power steering, power front disc brakes, sport deck rear seat which are of course all documented by a deluxe Marti report, a copy of the original Dealer invoice and listed in the Shelby World Registry. If you’re looking for a truly beautiful and very rare Shelby GT 500, this car is one of only 178 built with this paint color and trim package.  It is ready for a new home as great show car or just part of your collection.
