The tales
of the rare muscle car in the barn down the street are always told. It’s that
dream that keeps the car enthusiast wondering everytime they pass and old barn
or garage, what could be hidden in there? More often than not it’s a 6 cylinder
base model driven for years and then forgotten. But the opportunities still
exist to find some diamonds in the rough, waiting to be discovered.
This AAR ‘Cuda has recently been taken out
of storage. A two owner, factory
F4 Lime
Green AAR model still with its numbers matching 340 6bbl engine and numbers
matching torqueflite automatic transmission, it is an incredibly solid and
complete car from front to back. Purchased from the original owners in Florida in 1987, it was retained by the
second owners until recently being purchased by LMC. Over the years various
replacement parts we obtained such as new AAR striping and side exhaust tail
pipes, along with the small collection of original pieces that came with the car
including the factory exhaust manifolds, valances, trim pieces to name but a
few, all carefully retained in preparation for the restoration that never took
place ….. Yet!!! The car also comes with documentation of the sale from the
first to second owner in July of 1987 and VIN stamped rad support and cowl are
all visible . A fantastic foundation to begin a restoration, with the outcome
being a rare Lime Green factory AAR Plymouth ‘Cuda.
