From the
moment the newly redesigned Dodge Viper was introduced as a roadster in 2003, demand
began to grow for the upcoming coupe version. It would take until the 2006
model year for the coupe to return, but the resulting car proved more than
worth the wait! To commemorate the introduction of the new coupe, the first 200
produced by Dodge were all individually numbered with plaques on the console,
and were painted the same are the original
GTScoupe from 1996, Blue with
White stripes.
Presented
here is car number 180 of 200 produced, painted
GTSBlue with dual white stripes
First Edition cars. The cars also came with special blue interior trim accents
on the shifter, steering wheel and seats. Equipped with an impressive 8.3L (505
cu in) Viper V10 engine producing 510 hp and 535 lb-ft of torque through a 6
speed manual gearbox to turn the massive 345/30/19 rear tires on polished 5
spoke SRTwheels. As another throwback to the
original Vipers, the exhaust exits in front of both rear wheels, and the coupes
retain the “Double Bump” roof design the coupe has become famous for. With a
mere 9,076 miles (14,606 km) showing on this rare limited production Viper, it
is a fantastic collectible for the Viper enthusiast looking to add a 3rd
generation car to their collection.
