The 1965
model year may not have come with many styling changes for the already popular
C2 Corvette, but it did include some exciting mechanical upgrades, forever
cementing the Corvette as the premiere sports car from North America. Gone was the solid rear
axle, in place was a new independent suspension setup, to compliment the added
handling capabilities, the Corvette was also outfitted with 4 wheel hydraulic
disc brakes.
Painted its
striking factory colours of Glen Green with black interior and a black soft
top, this 1965 Roadster is a great example of what a small block Corvette could
offer. The numbers matching 327/365hp engine is connected to a Muncie M20 4
speed transmission with a vintage Hurst shifter and linkage ensuring
perfect, precise shifts. The black interior remains in great condition still
sporting many original pieces from the dash pad to the steering wheel, showing
how well this car has been cared for by its previous owners. This small block
Corvette also features full length exhaust, back up lights, day/night mirror
and an AM/FM radio, extra options that only add to the overall appeal. To this
day this Corvette remains a well maintained car to be driven and enjoyed …. Whether
while being taken to a local cruise night to show off or simply to be enjoyed
on the sunny Summer days ahead.
