For the
1959 model year Chevrolet made some drastic changes to the design of the entire
lineup. As the story goes, legendary GM designer Harley Earl took one look at
the upcoming designs for the 1959 Chryslers and tossed all original Chevrolet
plans out the window and started fresh. The results were spectacular, the
horizontal wings and teardrop tail lamps, the beginning of the “bubble top”
design, they were all cues that made the Chevrolet stand out and bring sales
up.
This fully
restored 1959 Impala model is a great example of the designs that made them
famous. Beautifully finished in white with turquoise trim and matching
