2008 Shelby GT-500KR
Return of the “King of the Road”
With the introduction of the Cobra Jet 428 engine to the Shelby GT-500 in 1968, to distinguish this model from previous GT-500’s,
Shelby added the initials KR to the name signifying “King of the Road”. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of this legendary model name,
Shelby announced the 2008 Shelby GT-500KR. Featuring more horsepower, suspension and exhaust upgrades along with some interior and styling queues to create a very aggressive and excellent performing car, more than worthy of the title “Kind of the Road”.
This pristine example is painted Brilliant Silver with blue stripes, with only 1,014 miles (1,632 km) showing, it remains in as new condition. The Supercharged 5.4L DOHC engine has been tuned to KR specs of 540 hp and 510 tire melting lb/ft of torque, a 6 speed transmission with short throw shifter, all through one of the most addictive exhaust notes produced by any late model muscle car. This KR also comes with a unique carbon composite hood, special 18” forged ALCOA aluminum wheels, KR embroidered interior, special suspension tuning, Ford Racing Power Upgrade Pack, Shaker 1000 audio system and special 40th Anniversary dash plate designating it as a true GT-500KR. With a limited production run of only 1,000 units for the 2008 model year, combined with the pedigree associated with the “KR” name, this Shelby is an incredible performer and destined to be another sought after automobile as part of the storied Shelby heritage.
