Ford and racing have always gone hand in hand, specifically for the Mustang model. In 1993, Ford formed Special Vehicle Teams ( SVT ) to produce some special performance models of their street cars, the most famous would undoubtedly be the Cobra Mustang. In 1993 they also produced a very limited production Cobra R, stripped out, light weight and built as a street legal racecar. That was followed by the 1995 Cobra R, and finally the most extreme of them all the 2000 Cobra R.

For the smaller Canadian market, it was decided that only cars would be sent, a lottery amongst all the SVT dealers in the country was held and the fortunate dealers were awarded the rights to the cars. This is one of those 5!! Showing only 215.9 miles since new, this Cobra R has been collector owned and cared for since delivery. The car remains in as new condition, very clean throughout and still has the brake cooling ducts and the original SVT binder and certificate of authenticity. Only 300 of these cars were built, when you consider that there were 499 BOSS 429 Mustangs produced in 1970, this could be one of the most collectible late model Mustangs to make it into production!!
