When International introduced the TravelAll in 1953, it was with hopes of leveraging its rugged commercial truck reputation to win in a passenger vehicle market segment. The TravellAll was available with 4-wheel drive as early as 1956, a full year ahead of Dodge’s Town Wagon and a full 4 years ahead of the Chevrolet Suburban, making it the original SUV in some views. In 1969, the TravelAll received an styling updated which made it look similar to the Scout. Production continued through 1975, at which point International departed from the passenger vehicle market during the recession that followed the 1974 energy crisis.
This 1972 International TravelAll is finished in two tone Pewter and White complemented by a Beige interior with bench seats. It is equipped with a 392 CI V8 engine mated to a 3 speed T-407 automatic transmission in a two-wheel drive configuration. Other options include Power Steering, Power Brakes, Air Conditioning and Oil Cooler. The engine has been recently rebuilt with only 1600 miles it since. Additional work was done as the engine rebuild took place including upgraded Petronix Ignition, new fuel pump, new carburetor, radiator rebuilt, new starter and alternator.
This beautiful International TravelAll is owned by front man Ed Robertson of the world renowned band The Barenaked Ladies. They have won multiple Juno Awards and have been nominated for two Grammy Awards.The group has sold over 15 million records including albums and singles, and were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in March 2018.
