LMC is very proud to offer for sale this recently restored and Award winning ’67 Sting Ray Coupe.

The 1967 Corvette Sting Ray was the last Corvette of the second generation, and five years of refinements made it the best of the line. The 427/435HP L71 Sting Ray coupe would be the high water mark of Corvette performance and refinement for the C2 series of cars. Changes were  modest with five smaller front fender vents replacing the three larger ones and the flat-finish rockers conferred a lower profile. New was a single backup light mounted above the license plate and the previous models' wheel covers were exchanged for the new design. Interior alterations included revised upholstery and the handbrake moved from beneath the dash to between the seats. The 427/435hp came standard from the factory with the Holley triple two-barrel carburetor arrangement called Tri-Power. The rare L71 engine package cost the original buyer an extra $437.10 on the GM order form. This is one of only 8,504 Coupes for the production year that put 22,940 Corvettes on the road so once again the Coupe was the rare model.

This 1967 Corvette Coupe was produced on March 15, 1967 and purchased at Merrill Bean Chevrolet Ogden Utah March 22, 1967 by Mr. Ernest Thomas Winfield. Marvelous looking in the very popular combination of factory Code 976 Marina Blue with Black interior which shows beautifully the striking Sting Ray coupe design. The previous owner has assured the next owner will have a proven Show Winner! A full and complete body-off restoration by marque specialist ensures the highest standards of detail in every way. This highly laborious restoration captures the correct from the factory look and was completed just last year. After completion the immaculate restoration of this Sport Coupe would achieve the impressive recognition as a Bloomington Gold Certified (2014) winning car – the recognized standard of judging that any Corvette enthusiast can appreciate. The Certificate and the Judging Sheets show how close to perfection this Coupe really is. This car also received further accolades by receiving a Top Flight Award (2014) from the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS).  Also comes complete with the NCRS Top Flight certificate and judging sheets.  It went on to win a Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Gold. With this final achievement completed, the car is a  highly coveted Triple Crown and or Triple Diamond certified Corvette,  a feat seldom achieved and saved for only the best cars.

The radical front look of this classic ’67 Coupe is captured with the large Hood Scoop having the familiar 427 number along the sides of the Black Racing Stripe Scoop sweeping back towards the windshield. Coming out of the Scoop is the Black Stripe ‘Stinger’ having the famous Corvette Crossed Flag logo within the point of the racing stripe. Lift up the hood to reveal the Chevy Orange L71 427 Turbo Jet 3X2 435HP engine with the factory “JE” code stamp sitting in a spotless engine bay with all the production detail captured in the award winning restoration. Correct block casting code of 3904351 also verifies its originality. During judging a NCRS Master Judge verified this Sting Ray has the factory original numbers matching engine. The M-21 Muncie Close Ratio 4-Speed Manual Transmission with 3:36 Posi-traction rear-end transmits the monstrous horsepower kicking performance while control comes from the 4-wheel disc brakes. This Coupe will deliver on the ’67 advertisement – ‘Deuces Wild! Talk about a winning hand…3 deuces to a full house 427’ which captured the story of the horsepower to be unleashed. Temptation will be there for sure, to take this Coupe out to show off its raw performance and sophisticated handling.

Previous ownership has assured the next owner that this Sting Ray will be a Show Winner wherever it travels. He will take the wheel of a very fresh total body-off  nut and bolt restored award winning Vette. The exterior has gleaming chrome, excellent glass and solid fit and alignment expected from a restoration confirmed with the recognized awards this Coupe has achieved. The standard trim Black Vinyl interior is captivating and the great fitting black bucket seat offers the driver comfort while providing the sports car driving feel that only a Corvette of this era can. Attesting to how well the car was kept and cared for over the years; during the restoration the seats, door panels and dash pads were left original as they were deemed too good the be replaced. The driver sits in an impressive interior compartment with the feel and look of quality. All the chrome, instruments, steering wheel, carpet and seats provide a “better than new” sensation. The exterior look is complete with the factory rally wheels, Bright chrome Rings and Caps mounted to the period correct Firestone Red-Wall Bias Ply tires. This Sting Ray also has what you need from both the factory production and options standpoint. The original owner choosing the very rare A85 code Shoulder Harness belts that cost only $26.35 but were only on 1426 cars. Delco AM-FM Radio, Back-Up Lamp and the A01 code Soft-Ray Tinted Glass complete this relatively rare equipment combination.

Included with this car is an impressive binder full of documentation some of which includes; the original Corvette Order Copy #7 with NCRS validation, original Tank Sticker complete with NCRS validation.  Both Bloomington Gold and the NCRS Top Flight Certificates complete with judging sheets. Owner’s Protection Plan booklet with protecto plate, Owner’s Manual, Radio Booklet, trim ring instruction sheet, NCRS Shipping Data Report, notarized letters attesting to the originality of the  drivetrain, complete owner history back to day one and also included are letters from previous owners.  This is most certainly one of the best documented and real 435hp Corvettes we have seen in a very very long time.

This rare Marina Blue Sting Ray Coupe will definitely provide you with the ‘Best of Show’ looks and the Big Block driving excitement of the road pounding 427/435HP!
